Political Party or Bitter Enemies?

In the past year, the GOP has experienced a rise and fall in the landscape that makes up our supposed "grand" party... We've watched as presidential hopefuls have come and gone on a whim, many jumping in the race primarily in hopes of finding a point of popularity that can be found more fashionable the next candidate and in the long-run, beat out obama(yes, I purposely did not capitalize his name) come November 6, 2012. The thing I've noticed more than anything else, however, is the unbelievable lack of respect that a supposed conservative party has displayed for one another. Republican and Tea Party voters have jumped on bandwagons, selected their candidate and for the most part, it's been all others must FALL! I'm just as guilty as the next in this respect, having seemingly no care in the world for the political outlooks of those also representing my party, wishing and praying for the answer that will bring about a better America...

But why are we allowing this to be the case? Do we not recognize that as we tear each other down, the liberal agenda rises up? obama supporters and the democratic party have no point of disagreement as we do, they have their candidate and they know who they will support in November, while we battle royale and bicker about the who's and what's of the GOP nomination. Forget a simple disagreement with political stances on health care or economic fixes, we attack the very soul of a candidate and the word "evil" runs rampant in the descriptions of candidates on twitter feeds everywhere.

I'm tired of adhering to the hopes of the obama campaign, knowing that liberals everywhere watch with ear-to-ear grins as we tear our own party to the ground. I'm tired of making this election easy for them... And more importantly, I'm tired of fighting with those who I've stood behind in times past simply because we disagree on a candidate.

Let it be known, while I do not agree with many of Romney's policies and I am a Newt Gingrich supporter, I vow to be the better man (or in my case, woman) in the fight against ourselves and will try to rise above the belittling and derogatory statements that have been the make up of our republican party in the last several months. I will no longer attack those who support other candidates and will, when a candidate is chosen, do all that I can to see to it that obama, liar-in-chief, is not reelected.

We owe it to our party and our nation to stand together for as the honorable Lincoln once said, "a house divided against itself cannot stand."

Blessings,

Sarah
